As a limited edition release only 435 bottles have been bottled in 2021 making it all the more exclusive and sought-after. This very old single cask Lot 96 Cognac was aged in a French oak cask where it reaped the benefits of the precious time it spent absorbing the minerals and tannins of the wood. Characterized by dominant nuances of violet (typical of Fins Bois Cognacs), sweet and fruity notes of jasmine, exotic fruits, English cake and candied apricots come to life on the nose. Such sweet aromas are contrasted with punchy notes of Timut pepper, liquorice and lemon that swim across the palate before revealing delicate hints of honey, chestnuts and toasted bread. A truly tantalizing treat for those who can appreciate complex aromatics in Cognac. The Vallein Tercinier Cognac house has been operating since 1850 and has amassed five generations worth of knowledge surrounding fine-tuned Cognac production. Located in the Saintonge region, this brand now has an extensive collection of Cognacs that shines a spotlight on the family’s impressive cellar of eaux-de-vie.
