An epic journey from the Kingdom of Kush, down the River Nile to the to the safe haven harbour of Dun na mBarc on Irelands west coast under the high peaks of Knocknarea. Bringing forth excellences never before experienced on the Emerald Isle, this expedition was laden with the future generations of Erin. This Irish Single Malt has been aged for 11 years in American oak casks and finished for 3 in the finest Oloroso sherry casks. Knochnarea is the second expression from Athru and an exceptional single malt.

Nose: Fresh Laundry, Pencils, Sandalwood, and Cedar.

Palate: Raisins, Brown Sugar, Mince Pies and Caramel.

Finish: Pepper and Cigar box medium length.

Distillery Information

Conceived in Ireland and built by master craftsmen in Italy, the Lough Gill Distillery was commissioned in 2019. It uses state of the art equipment and energy capture technology to produce the highest quality single malt whiskey with minimal impact on the environment.
