Reviews:
Ulysses Vineyard is a Napa Valley wine producer that is part of the Moueix family of vineyards and negociant company Ets. Moueix. Located in the south of Oakville, it has been managed by winemaker Christian Moueix since 2008. The 31.5 acre (13 hectare) Ulysses vineyard is found in the Oakville AVA. It is composed of 85 percent Cabernet Sauvignon with smaller portions of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot planted on gravel based soils. It counts the notable To Kalon, Vine Hill Ranch and Missouri Hopper Ranch as vineyard neighbours. The sole Cabernet Sauvignon-based wine produced by Ulysses is resticted to a limited 1000 cases each vintage. It is barrel-aged in approximately 40 percent new French oak for 20 months, as well as five years of bottle-aging prior to release. Christian Moueix has been the owner of Dominus Estate, also in Napa Valley, since 1983. Company holdings in St. Emilion and Pomerol include Chteau la Grave, Chateu Trotanoy , Chteau Latour a Pomerol, Clos La Madeleine and Chteau Magnan La Gaffeliere.
