Although the distillery source is undisclosed, independent bottler Alexander Murray & Co. has built its name on its passion for Scottish single malts and has been dogged in its pursuit of rare casks from only the best of the best.

The Alexander Murray philosophy is simple, but ironclad: that great whisky is a function not just of time, but also of superior sourcing and of mastery and vigilance in a long, methodical process. The 2003 Glenshiel Single Cask began its long journey with water drawn from a private, natural spring in the Glen of Donnie. All the land surrounding this vital source is owned and protected by the distillery, and the whiskey was carefully distilled in 2003 within the Speyside region. Maturation of the mash occurs in a hogshead cask, which ensures that the distillery character is retained through the slow, time-honored process.
