Produced in Bend, OR, C.W. Irwin is named for the brother of Oregon Spirt Distillers’ owner Brad Irwin. The grains used in the mash bill – a blend of corn, wheat, rye and malted barley – are locally grown. The barrels in which it’s aged for 3 years are produced at the Barrel Mill, which uses sustainable practices to harvest the trees used, planting 3 for every one cut down.
Nose: On the nose beautiful fruity esters show up: fuji apples on the cusp of bare ripeness sit atop a thick slice of banana walnut bread with extra butter.
Palate: A hint of tanginess not far from the likes of a sour-cream-and-brown-sugar ice cream.
Finish: The finish is medium in length and quick to conclude.
Produced by Oregon Spirit Distillers in Bend, Oregon, Brad Irwin has been at work since 2009, producing a unique and diverse portfolio of spirits including a winter white wheat vodka, a Genever-style gin, and an absinthe.
