The grain bill is an unusual 51% corn and 49% barley… which to us suggests almost a blended scotch style of whiskey and likely sweeter than the high rye styles of bourbon so popular on the market. The Kinsey line is meant to be a replica of the per-Prohibition whiskey under the same name.

Kinsey Bourbon Whiskey Tasting Notes

Nose: Dried oak, maple syrup, burnt sugar and a whiff of nutmeg.

Palate: Strong and full of flavor, this bold bourbon boasts an incredible deep and smoky taste, superbly balanced with sweet vanilla and notes of caramel.

Finish: Lasting warmth of cinnamon and flaky pastry.

Distillery Information

New Liberty Distillery was founded in 2004 by Robert Cassell (formerly with Philadelphia Distilling) in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Their building once served as a stable, and much of its architecture, including the horse stalls, have been preserved. The building now provides a home to our custom-made still, as well as the rick house where we barrel age our whiskey. In addition to the working distillery, they also feature a beautiful bar and tasting room where you can sample their whiskey and enjoy craft cocktails created by their in-house mixologist Sam. Their Heritage Collection and New Liberty whiskeys, spirits-related gifts, and other locally sourced products can be purchased in their retail space.
