Longtiude is a fascinating release from Larmandier-Bernier that is made exclusively from Chardonnay grapes; Avize, Cramant, Oger and Vertus, grown on the Cte des Blancs and harvested by hand in 2012, before they were blended with 40% of reserve wines made in 2011, 2010, 2009, 2008, 2007, 2006, 2005 and 2004 vintages. The name is an allusion to the length of time this gorgeous edition matured, and also the mineral quality of the terroir, where the chalk is very close to the surface.
Nose: Nose is complex yet not overwhelming.
Palate: The palate is an explosion of flavors and the finish is nice.
Finish: Quite rich and lovely smooth texture.
