This well-rounded and floral expression has been blended using a proportion of very old eaux-de-vies to give an elegant and complex Cognac. Louis Royer VS Cognac is the youngest of the producers portfolio, combining eaux-de-vie from all six growing regions of Cognac, aged in both Tronais and Limousin oak for a minimum of two years. Louis Royer had already worked for many years as a cellar master for other Cognac houses when he finally decided to start his own company in 1853. He decided to settle in the town of Jarnac, perfectly located by the River Charente, and chose the bee as his emblem – a symbol of hard work and efficiency. Since the beginning, this humble Cognac house has chosen to use grapes from all six crus, never limiting themselves to one style or growing region. This has allowed the family to adapt and overcome the challenges of difficult years, and five generations later they are still going strong. The Louis Royer VS Cognac is presented in an elegant, slightly tapered bottle with a slim neck, embossed with the producers signature bee emblem. The champagne-colored label and foil perfectly match the presentation box.
Nose: Mild florals balanced out by some wood spice and the aroma of cooked apples with cinnamon.
Palate: Expressing more fruit, with a luxurious softness.
Finish: The finish is lively and tangy.
Louis Royer is situated in the town of Jarnac, overlooking the Charente River. One of the oldest Cognac companies in the World, known for their love for bees, hence their bee emblem. Louis Royer was more than just a skilled cellar master, and it didnt take him long to realize he would be much better off running his own business, rather than working for other Cognac houses. He set up his first Cognac still in 1853 at the ripe old age of 25. Before that, he kept bees to produce his own honeya hobby that he maintained for his entire life. The logo of the Louis Royer Cognac remained a gold and blue honey bee to this day.
