Plantation Rum is produced using a combination of traditional and modern rum-making techniques, and most expressions undergo the brands signature double ageing process. After ageing for several years in white oak Bourbon casks in the tropics, where the angels share is high, the rum is shipped to France for cask finishing, including Cognac cask finishing. While the white oak infuses the rum with vanilla, spicy and slightly smoky notes, the secondary finish adds delicate tannic undertones. Nose: The nose starts on caramel, ripe figs, licorice and molasses, and becomes fruitier with banana, almond and woody, buttery, minty and smoky notes.

Palate: The rich and quite woody palate lingers with notes of cooked apple, lemon, mango and walnut, with spicier undertones of white pepper, vanilla and nutmeg.

Finish: The finish is very long.
