Port Askaig, an independent whisky label, has sourced its current 33-year-old Scotch from Islays largest distillery. Do a little digging and you find that the largest distillery on Islay is Caol Ila. Producing about 115 bottles, the Port Askaig 33 Year Old comes from a single ex-bourbon cask.

Port Askaig 33 Year Old Scotch Whisky Tasting Notes

Nose: Complex orchard, smoke, charred meat, citrus peels, honey and subtle spice, coastal notes, vanilla and oakiness.

Palate: Complex fruit heavier smoke, lemony citrus, honey, charred marshmallows, maritime/coastal notes and a richer, but still subtle spice and oakiness.

Finish: Long Spice, smoke, citrus, orchard fruit and honey.
