This Toms Foolery Cask Strength Rye is/was (depending on when you read this) a single barrel pick for K&L here in Hollywood and like everything else Toms Foolery does its great. They didnt take any shortcuts in making this 100% rye whiskey, including in what details they give you about the whiskey on their site. Which, by the way, is freaking awesome. The amount of detail here is a whiskey nerds boozy dream!

Tom’s Foolery Cask Strength Ohio Straight Rye Whiskey Tasting Notes

Nose: Dill, caramel, vanilla, spice, citrus peel, cinnamon oil, butterscotch and a light bit of oak and herbal pine.

Palate: Dill, caramel, vanilla, herbal pine, cinnamon oil, menthol, taffy sweetness and bits of leather, cocoa and graham.

Finish: Long dilly fade of caramel, piney herbal and cinnamon.

Located in Chagrin Falls, Ohio, Toms Foolery is a craft distillery that produces three iconic American spirits: applejack, bourbon, and rye whiskey. Founded in 2008, this tiny distillery grows some of its own grain and fruit on a family farm, and has dedicated the past four years to amassing a major collection of filled full-size whiskey barrels.
