Wahaka Repo on Rye was made in partnership with Wigle Whiskey in Pittsburgh. Legend has it that Wahaka co-owner Raza Zaidi, was pouring at a T. Edward Wines Portfolio Event and was stationed next to Michael Foglia of Wigle Whiskey. They got to talking and the idea of exchanging barrels popped up. So Wahaka got some used Wigle Whiskey barrels, and Wigle got some used Wahaka barrels, which they used to for a project called Oaxacan Rye. This mezcal from Wahaka is made with agave Espadin and aged for 12 months in the used Wigle Whiskey barrels. The initial release of this in 2019 was just 220 bottles.

Nose: Nose is complex yet not overwhelming.

Palate: Lovely, mild on the tongue with a slight burn at the end.

Finish: Perfect, long lasting finish.
