Crafted with conviction by their Master Distillers, Wild Turkey Bourbon is aged longer to deliver more character – and to give it that Wild Turkey signature kick, Eddie and Jimmy Russell use the classic Wild Turkey high-rye mash bill before it ages in the deepest level #4 alligator char American oak barrels. Wild Turkey shines on its own, or in a mixed drink like a Manhattan or an Old Fashioned. Thats why Eddie calls it a whiskey that can stand up to any mixer or in any cocktail with the bold, in-yourface taste that is distinctively Wild Turkey. They distill at a lower proof, so less water is added, resulting in a fuller and more robust bourbon flavor just way the Russells have been making it for over 60 years.

Wild Turkey Bourbon Whiskey Tasting Notes

Nose: Soft, with sweet raisins, cinnamon, toffee popcorn and a touch of black pepper. Theres also rich sweetness in the form of vanilla, honey and caramelised bananas.

Palate: Nice and spicy, with clove and nutmeg perking up the honeyed fruit. Not too sweet (a good thing) and a good, solid punch of spicy fruit.

Finish: The soft honey and vanilla notes sit well with the spice.

Distillery Information

In 1869, the Ripy Brothers started distilling on Wild Turkey Hill near Lawrenceburg, Kentucky. Their early days went well and their Bourbon Ripy Brother Bourbon was selected to represent the State of Kentucky at the Chicago Worlds Fair in 1893.
