Batch Proof is a celebration of Woodford Reserves proprietary process blending barrels into a batch and then bottling the whiskey at its actual proof, straight from the barrel. Batch Proof is crafted using the same grain bill and process as Woodford Reserve Kentucky Straight Bourbon. Batch Proof, however, takes Woodford Reserves trademark flavor range of sweet vanilla and toasted oak to a whole new level offering consumers the privilege of tasting Woodford Reserve in its purest form.

Color: Rich orange amber

Nose: A complex medley of rich tea leaf, oak and dried leather notes are underpinned by delicate hints of peppermint and fresh cedar.

Palate: Dry tea notes are balanced by slightly sweeter dark caramel and cocoa notes. Traces of peppermint brighten a potpourri of dried berries.

Finish: A long subtle dryness is highlighted by a lingering dark chocolate espresso fade.

Distillery Information

Nestled amid the rolling hills of bluegrass and thoroughbred farms sits our historic Woodford Reserve Distillery.

One of Kentuckys oldest and smallest distilleries, the present day Woodford Reserve Distillery is built on history, sitting on Kentuckys oldest distilling site where Elijah Pepper began crafting whiskey in 1812. It was on these same hallowed grounds that years later Master Distiller James Christopher Crow perfected his whiskey-making methods, which today have become common practice, including the implementation of sour mash into fermentation.

The Distillery is home to a 500-foot-long gravity-fed barrel run, our iconic copper pot stills, and 100-year-old cypress wood fermenters. We also boast one of the only heat cycled barrelhouses in the world, ensuring every drop seeps into the charred and toasted white oak, giving Woodford Reserve its color and signature flavor.
