As the Beastie Boys remind us, an egg is indeed a symbol of life. Advocaat is derived from the Dutch word “Advocatenborrel” which means – the drink of Advocates and Lawyers. Made from the yolks of new laid eggs, sugar and brandy. Zwarte Kip (Black Hen) Advocaat was established in 1857 and is easily recognized by its uniquely shaped bottle. The brand is now apart of the Lucas Bols portfolio based in the Netherlands.
